STATEMENT :Are you ready to pay a new State Income Tax - and all the increases and other new taxes that will follow? I'm not. In today's uncertain economy, it makes no sense to burden Alaskans with new taxes. Yet liberal politicians in Alaska's Legislature, including our current incumbent, are relentlessly pushing new tax schemes to fund open ending spending agendas. I'm running to give a responsible conservative alternative to everyone living on JBER, Government Hill, Ship Creek and North Muldoon. Please compare my agenda and legislative record to our incumbent. There is an honest conservative - liberal contrast. My agenda: Put a tough new spending cap in our Alaska Constitution. Protect our Permanent Fund Dividend. Promote military family employment by removing burdensome statutory and regulatory restrictions. Push to expand the exploration and production of Alaska's natural resources. Put every new scheme to impose new taxes to a direct vote of the people. My record in the 32nd Alaska Legislature earned national recognition from the Council of State Governments and the Harvard Kennedy School's Institute of Politics. The IOP noted that I authored the Military and Family Employment Act (HB 125) which passed with bi-partisan support and HJR 16 recognizing the Hmong veterans of the Vietnam War which passed unanimously. I've worked on JBER as a civilian and served there as a National Guard soldier. JBER values built Alaska and our Nation: patriotism, selfless service, honesty, integrity, faith, families, and liberty. If you share those values, I respectfully ask for your vote.
